In late February 2025, RSPCA Bromley & District was contacted by a local pet owner facing a heartbreaking situation. Their beloved dog urgently needed a splenectomy — a major operation to remove the spleen. While they had pet insurance, it sadly didn’t cover the full cost of the life-saving procedure.
Recognising the urgency and not wanting finances to stand in the way of care, the Branch stepped in to contribute towards the cost of the surgery, ensuring the dog could receive the treatment it desperately needed.
Thanks to the combined efforts of the veterinary team, the loving owner, and your continued support of our work, the operation was a success — and the dog is now recovering well at home. 💙🐾
To our delight, a few weeks later we received an unexpected thank-you: a personalised mug featuring the happy pup we helped! It was a lovely reminder of the difference we can make together — even in small acts of kindness.
